This is a programmable digital timer switch for a 12V system.

It has a 24 hour program across 7 days, with 2 ON/OFF settings per day (and a random mode too).  

An LCD display will show your settings and there's a reset button which is recessed to prevent accidental use.

Applications: 

• Ideal for use in the car, boat, caravan and motorhome, it can control a 12V lighting system (for example).
• Alternatively it could be used at home in the garage or garden to operate 12V lighting, water pumps, irrigation systems....
• It could be configured to enable a security lighting circuit at night.  An infrared movement sensor and security light could be enabled so that the sensor only operates during certain hours which means it wouldn't drain a battery unnecessarily during the day. (There's a PIR sensor manual in the related documents).

Connection:

The connection is straightforward, it uses cigarette lighter adapter connections (CLA for short).

On one side of the timer is a cable with a CLA plug (black & red in the photo).

On the other side of the timer is another cable with a CLA socket (black rectangular item in the photo).

1. The plug goes into your 12V power system such a solar panel and 12V battery. (These power systems often come with CLA sockets).
2. Your 12V lighting (or irrigation) system is plugged into the timer's socket.
3. The power flows through the timer or is switched off according to the timer's settings.
